LIGHTS: Please pay close attention

You are probably aware that many of the intersections now have flashing yellow lights at the left hand turn lane. I wasn’t aware of this when I turned left from Lincoln Way (Highway 95) onto Ironwood Drive going northbound. An ambulance was in front of me which is not unusual since this intersection is at Kootenai Medical Center. The ambulance blocked most of my view of the changing light. I thought the ambulance had a green light so when it turned left, I did too, not realizing the turn was on a blinking yellow light. It had always been green when vehicles started to turn so I followed the ambulance without giving it a second thought.

A car travelling southbound on Highway 95 almost collided with me and there would have been a chain reaction with the cars behind it. It would have been no doubt a terrible multi-car accident. If you are going to have a terrible accident I guess being right at the hospital would have been a plus if one were still breathing and don’t forget about that ambulance. Please be careful out there.
