Lightning ignites 9 fires in Boise National Forest

BOISE (AP) - Nine lightning-caused wildfires started in the Boise National Forest on Satuday.

Spokeswoman Linda Steinhaus said firefighters that included smokejumpers and a helicopter are fighting the fires that were expected to be under control sometime by late evening Saturday.

The largest of the fires is about an acre in size and is burning within the Emmett and Idaho City Ranger districts.

Steinhaus says no structures are threatened.
