LETTER: Bad taste? You bet

| May 8, 2013 9:04 PM

We read Cecil Kelly’s letter to the editor on April 28 and he can be thankful for freedom of speech. That was the most ridiculous piece of writing I have ever read. It was so repulsive even mentioning that the NRA supports selective harvesting of school students, human pot pies, hunting tags, over hunting a body bag count of five kids or infants, $100 bounty of each child scalp harvested. He has lost his common sense in this whole matter of gun control.

Does he not realize that at any time you make it known that this is a “weapon-free zone” that it just gives the mentally deranged person a free hand to do as he pleases when it comes to weapons because there is no good guy with a gun to stop the bad guy with a gun? It is a behavioral problem, not a gun problem.

NRA stands between the law-abiding gun owners and the government for our Second Amendment rights. There are already many gun laws on the books right now. They just need to be enforced, not more regulations for law-abiding citizens.

The felons, murder etc. etc. pay no attention to the existing gun laws. What makes you think that they will abide by all the new gun laws? It is a behavioral problem, not a gun problem.
