CDA: Careful with 'dress code'
The Coeur d’Alene City Council is considering an anti-gay bias ordinance, modeled after one passed in Boise. They claim this is in the spirit of equal rights for all, but in reality the rights gained are at the expense of girls and women.
One of the rights granted is that of cross-dressers to freely use any public facility they desire. In Boise, the penalty for impeding their access is a fine of up to $1,000 or six months in jail. This means if your daughter is using a public restroom and a guy sporting a beard with a mini-skirt decides to stroll in, you can do nothing to deny him access. Men will have their God-given right to protect their loved ones denied. This also means we’re supposed to now instruct our daughters to not speak to strangers (meaning creepy men), but to ignore the odd-looking fellow in a dress in the restroom.
Another thing I fear is how this will play out with the disproportionate number of sexual predators in the area. A potentially disastrous situation is being created by granting them the right to don a dress and prowl the lady’s room for victims. If this ordinance passes, I hope the city will allow themselves to be held liable for damages to any girl or woman harmed by the predators they are enabling.
I’ll gladly defy this ordinance to protect my wife and daughters, and I hope the men of Coeur d’Alene do the same.
