BUILDINGS: Should pass the eye test
I was happy to read in Friday’s Press that the Post Falls Beautification Committee was stepping up to enhance the entrance to our city off I-90. I only wish the committee had put into place some sort of “architectural design requirements” before allowing the huge Verizon Store on Seltice, west of Highway 41, to rise up complete with flashing video screens three stories high. I think it is an eye-sore and has no “Northwest Feel” to its design.
We have had to suffer for years with the blinding yellow and black Pay Day Loans building on the corner of Spokane Street and Seltice, which is a major intersection. Most communities have a board that would grant approval or disapproval of any business’s architectural design before being allowed to build. These examples clearly do not compliment in either the theme or harmony of our River City. So I ask, Mayor Larkin, is someone asleep on their job or do they just have poor taste?
Thanks for listening.
