MOVIES: History does repeat itself

| March 29, 2013 9:08 PM

Reality shift is a term we use to describe synchronicity or coincidence. These are events that seem to be unrelated but occur in a significant way. We don’t usually notice them, so we don’t make the connection. Our observation changes our reality. We need to be more aware of how we make relationships between circumstances. Our reality is fluid, not rigid and sometimes we can slip between the cracks of time and space.

A good example is in March of 1979 when the movie “China Syndrome” was released. It was about a nuclear reactor meltdown. Almost two weeks after the movie was released, the exact same thing happened at Three Mile Island in Pennsylvania.

Today, the movie “Olympus Has Fallen” is about a North Korean terrorist attack on the White House. Lately, the North Koreans have been doing a lot of sabre-rattling and flamboyant display of military power, with their threatening behavior which is intended to intimidate.

This coming July will be the 60th anniversary of the end of the Korean War. There is another action-thriller scheduled to be released in June called “White House Down.”

The past and the future are related, like it or not. History does repeat itself in ways that can be scary. Be careful what you ask for, you just might get it. Curiously enough, Mount Olympus in Greek mythology is the home of the Gods.
