GUNS: Add to the stats, please

| March 27, 2013 9:00 PM

Read an article by Alecia Warren on 3-17-2013. Was a little surprised it was not complete. She left out a few facts.

One of the toughest gun laws is in Chicago and in 2011 they had 439 homicides. In Idaho with loose laws they had 199 deaths in 2010 and 183 were suicides.

In Great Britain in 2012 only 6 percent of murders were caused by guns. That means 94 percent of the murderers found other means to kill.

She quotes a study conducted by the AMA. What she didn’t mention in the study that there are far more deaths caused by medical malpractice than gun deaths. The ratio is about three times more deaths in the medical field than by guns. Should we start to put restrictions on the medical field?
