GIFT: Random kindness lives on

| March 22, 2013 10:26 PM

On Saturday afternoon at the Post Falls Super 1 grocery store, as I walked up to the check-out area after putting my groceries on the conveyor belt, I was pleasantly surprised to be told by the clerk that the lady preceding me had left a $20 bill to apply to my grocery bill. I have no idea who the lady was but what a wonderful gift she gave me beyond the actual money.

Bless her heart — it seems she still is practicing the Random Acts of Kindness philosophy that I assumed had disappeared after its ’80s heyday. I did a search and found a website called randomactsofkindness.org and I see that the philosophy is still alive and well. I don’t know if this organization influenced the lady who left me the gift, but I suspect that she is simply a kind and giving person. THANK YOU!
