GUNS: No need for more laws

| March 17, 2013 9:00 PM

Regarding the Press editorial March 13: I wish the current gun laws were prosecuted before more gun laws are added.

According to a Jan. 30, 2013 article by David Ingram of Reuters:

“The FBI said it conducted 16.5 million background checks for gun purchases in 2011. Of those, 78,211 ended in denials of eligibility because of a past conviction, a warrant for an arrest, drug abuse or other reason. Forty-four attempted buyers faced prosecution in 2010.”

Please explain why we need more laws if the current ones are not prosecuted.
