LEVY: It helps technology, too
In today’s classrooms, technology is integral to teaching and learning. New technologies are continually emerging which positively impact instruction and engage students.
As the Director of Technology in the Coeur d’Alene School District, I would like to thank community members for your support of technology through past Maintenance & Operations levies and the capital improvement bond this past August. The current levy has been the district’s main source of support for technology by providing funding each year towards replacing staff and student computers, software licensing, servers, and network equipment.
If Coeur d’Alene students are going to be successful in today’s digital world, they will need digital literacy skills that will give them a competitive edge. Continuing the Maintenance & Operations funding will be critical for the district to continue to provide basic access to technology and electronic resources that enhance instruction.
I encourage voters to renew the current Maintenance & Operations levy amount of $12.8 M as well as support an increase of $1.4 M for safety and security.
