Svend Koustrup, 91

Svend Koustrup, born in Danmark, Sept. 1, 1921, died June 18, 2013, at Hospice House at Hummingbird Fields, in Coeur d’Alene, one week after a diagnosis of cancer. His wife of 64 years, Anne, and daughters, Helle and Jette, were with him at his passing.

Svend worked at Optical Coating Laboratory, Inc. (OCLI - now JDS Uniphase) in Santa Rosa, Calif., from 1960, three weeks after immigrating to the U.S., until his 1987 retirement. Career highlights included contributions to the U.S. Space Program.

Svend leaves behind family members and friends spread across the U.S. and Danmark. At his request, no services will be held.
