I arrived in your city last Monday in advance of Sunday’s Ironman triathlon. It was my first trip to your city, state and region. Immediately one can see and appreciate the beauty of the area.
I want to thank all the people of the area for welcoming the athletes. Everywhere I went, I was asked if I was here to race, wished luck with genuine enthusiasm. Then on Sunday, the streets were packed with spectators, the neighborhoods were packed with enthusiastic residents.
The energy really helps us get through a long, rewarding, day. On Monday wearing my newly acquired finisher’s jacket, I was greeted with congratulations.
Thank you for taking a great experience to a phenomenal experience.
