It's late!
It's dark, it's raining, and it's so late that I don't think I want to do my exercises today. But instead of giving into the urge to forget it all and get my PJ's on and watch "The Voice" I think of all the people that I made a commitment too.
My group, the ones I'm accountable too. The ones that cheer me on and say I look good even when I don't feel so good. The ones who I joke and laugh with about all the crazy things are bodies use to be able to do and now can't do.
So because of them and the commitment I made to get healthy and stay that way, I reach for my tennis shoes and head out the door to get walking. Then I lift weights and try to remember that no one ever said it would be easy or fun everyday. So some days I just show up for my exercise time even if I don't feel like it. We make up funny jokes or words to keep us going, we text each other and we make sure everyday we try to do something for our health.
Accountability is tough. It means others are watching, depending on you and are there to make sure you do the right thing. Who is part of your team? Who is cheering for you and making sure you stay on track with your health?
My sister is part of a group where she posts workouts everyday for her team to stay on track. It's fun and it keeps her team going. Once you do the workout for the day you post that you did it. Of course, not all days are good days with your health. Sometimes it gets late and you still haven't done one thing. That was I the other night. I found no time all day for my health. Was I just lazy or just full of good excuses? Thank goodness I have people who hold me accountable or I would have just sat right down and snuggled in. Instead I headed for the door.
In the next few days half the year will be over and there were so many more gains we were hoping to have made by now. So as a way to keep us motivated we have decided to post daily on our Facebook page the workout of the day. Once you have done the workout post that you did it and then we can all be accountable to each other. We are cheering for you. You can do it, even if it's late.
