ANIMALS: Stop being so cruel

I am Ashlie Pinkerton, a sixth-grade student at River City Middle School. I am writing to you to persuade you that cruelty to animals should not be allowed. I hope you take my opinion and keep reading.

It should be against the law that cruelty to animals should not be allowed in this world. If people stop cruelty to animals, animals wouldn’t try to harm nor would they be afraid of humans. Humans might say animals don’t know anything or they are just animals, but that doesn’t mean you should be cruel. Doesn’t it make you sad how mean humans are to animals? Could you imagine if you were one of those poor innocent animals? How those humans mean would be to you?

Doesn’t it make you sad to watch these animals be harmed by these mean humans who don’t love their pet? What if you were a pet and your owner loved you and you were sold to someone who abused you? I have a dog who was abused by the current owner, but my family was so nice to him that now he isn’t so scared of us. Animals can’t say ow, stop, or you are hurting me. Cruelty to animals just makes them mean, scared, and sad. Earlier today I saw someone being mean to their dog so the dog hid under our pickup.

I think it is mean how cruel people are to animals. Do you think it is mean? Animals are just like humans, they have feelings and they get hurt.
