GAY: Spoiling some good TV

| June 19, 2013 9:00 PM

Several good letters appeared in the June 12 Press, particularly Paul Ciruso’s response to Del Cameron’s childish rant re: the Obama scandals. How they flare up when their side is being criticized as if they were the only ones entitled to take offense.

There were also a number of good comments on the new anti-discrimination ordinance from Hans Neuman (who always writes a good letter), Ray Anderson and Leah Madison plus a related one on Sheriff Wolfinger’s Boy Scout position from Ed Torrence.

Now, to coin a phrase, let me be clear (where on Earth could I have heard that expression?): I have no problem with homosexuals or their many social relatives. They can argue that out with God when their turn comes. But I must confess to being sick and tired of their agenda being constantly rammed down my throat especially on TV. Cases in point: I happen to be a fan of tales of fantasy, horror and science fiction among others. When the series “Lost Girl” first appeared I looked forward to watching it and enjoyed the first several episodes. Then it turned into a lesbian sex show and I dropped it.

Next, two of my once-favorite shows, “Defiance” and “Warehouse 13,” recently joined the parade featuring, respectively, two women/two men sex. Now if you know these shows you should know that sex — hetero or homo — has little if any place in them. It is literally shoe-horned into them. Obviously the point is to make us “comfortable” with these extra-curricular activities. They seem oblivious to the fact that such will never happen.

Gays: Please get out of my face and off my back. Confine your activities to “Sex and the City” and the like and leave these other shows alone.
