NRA: Mark missed the mark

It seems Mr. Mark Komar’s tirade against the NRA (Sunday, June 2) is just another foolish attempt by the leftists to discredit the NRA (National Rifle Association). I am totally disgusted by his implication that the NRA had anything to do with or promoted and such actions. He shows a total lack of understanding of what the NRA stand for.

The NRA represents five million U.S. citizens that believe in the right to keep and bear arms as in the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. They promote the shooting sports, safety and training for law enforcement and citizens as well as the right to protect your families and property.

Although I am a proud Patron member of the NRA and have been for many years, I cannot speak directly for NRA policies. I am not an NRA spokesman. However, I can say the NRA has never promoted or encouraged any attacks against U.S. citizens by any despicable means as implied by Mr. Komar. As I said, those are really disgusting. I am somewhat surprised the Coeur d’Alene Press printed his tirade.
