Ghirarduzzi earns firefighting awards
Capt. Marc Ghirarduzzi was recently recognized by both the North Idaho Fire Chiefs Association and Northern Lakes Fire District for his outstanding leadership skills and dedication.
Ghirarduzzi was selected for Firefighter/Employee of the Year at Northern Lakes after being nominated by those working under his command. He was later nominated for the North Idaho Fire Chiefs Firefighter of the Year award which he won as well.
He has been a member of Northern Lakes Fire District (formerly Hayden Lake Fire) for more than 20 years and was promoted to captain in May 2012.
The letter nominating Ghirarduzzi shared a story of a young firefighter contemplating leaving the fire service. Through Ghirarduzzi's coaching and support, that person chose to continue his career with Northern Lakes Fire.
Northern Lakes serves Hayden, Rathdrum and Garwood.
