COUNCIL: Voters won't forget this
Tuesday night the Cd’A City Council chose to vote against the people of the community who came out in droves and spoke against passing an ordinance that gives special rights to people based solely on their sexual lifestyle.
They believe they had to show the rest of the country that they voted against intolerance when in fact they have stirred it up. They said they were voting for all the people after listening for hours to the majority of community members who were against it. What they did is shove it down the throat of the community. Because so many spoke of God and God’s laws, they interjected that in their decision they believe Jesus, if he were here today, would side with the downtrodden. Really? Jesus said to go and SIN no more. Sorry Mr. Kennedy, Mr. Gookin, Mrs. Goodlander, Mr. Edinger and Mr. McEvers that does not fly.
The sin of sodomy is especially offensive to God. What you have done is make the majority the downtrodden because now business owners and community members will be forced to “tolerate” the intolerant against their religious conscious or face fines and jail time. It is God’s Word, the Bible, that is supreme not yours and it is God’s law that this country was founded and it is the Christian faith that secures liberties.
Instead you chose to ignore the people out of your own ignorance. You think nothing will come of this, yet, every time an LGBT is “offended” the lawsuits are going to fly.
I’d say Jesus had a lot to say about it Mr. Kennedy in Romans 1:18 – 32 and it is very clear they are not “born that way.” You said you’ve come back to church, I suggest you blow the dust off your Bible and start reading God’s Word before making decisions that come back to harm the community you represent. For your information the Declaration of Independence acknowledges God four times and later made part of the Constitution.
