Eugene George Ostlund, 79

Eugene George Ostlund died of bilateral pneumonia June 2, 2013 at Hospice House in Hayden. He was born July 30, 1933, in Noxon, Mont., his father delivered him.

He enlisted in the U.S. Coast Guard at a very young age and retired after serving his country for 30 years. A fact he was very proud of.

He married Gloria Brandt on June 25, 1983, in Garwood. They especially loved to go huckleberry picking and camping. They traveled and camped in every state and one summer spent three months touring Alaska. Their favorite camp spot was right here at home at Meadow Creek campground on the Moyie River.

He is survived by his wife, Gloria; her two sons and their families; Gloria’s sisters and their spouses; and one brother and his spouse.

In lieu of flowers please give to the Coeur d’Alene Church of the Nazarene. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 13, 2013, at the Coeur d’Alene Church of the Nazarene, 4000 N. Fourth St., Coeur d’Alene.
