COURT: Unfair to ex-prosecutor

| July 28, 2013 9:00 PM

We live in a Democracy based on “liberty and justice for all.” It seems not to be true in Canyon County, Idaho.

My son, the former Canyon County Prosecuting Attorney, with permission of the county commissioners, legally developed a personal contract to have his office provide legal services to the city of Nampa. All additional costs were reimbursed to the county and legal services were markedly improved while saving the city and county significant dollars. The Prosecuting Attorney’s office significantly benefitted operationally and office personnel were given raises at no cost to the county.

This contract continues successfully to this day. When it became public knowledge that John was benefitting financially (which was perfectly legal) the commissioners denied ever having given permission. John voluntarily surrendered his license to practice law while defending himself during a two-year legal battle.

After acquittal of all charges, the Idaho State Bar agreed that his license should be returned. However, the Idaho Supreme Court denied the request citing the same false accusations of which he had been cleared.

I ask you to sign the petition at http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/bujak/ in hopes that the Idaho Supreme Court will change their decision.

In deciding I ask you to consider: If a lawyer and former county prosecutor can’t find justice, what are the chances that you would be treated fairly in a similar situation?

Thank you for your consideration.
