CALIFORNIA: Budget badly unbalanced

Regarding the letter from Bruce Hansen. a few things don’t ring quite true. Claiming that all bad financial failures were due to Republican governors and voila(!) along comes the hero Jerry Brown to make it all better?

I Googled the state of finances in CA and found that California has a $127.2 BILLION DEFICIT. That doesn’t sound like much of a balanced budget to me. I lived there for 30 years and have sadly watched the decline caused by all the social programs. These giveaway programs are only sustainable till other people’s money runs out. More businesses are looking to relocate to other states that are more business friendly with fewer regulations and lower tax bases. Why wouldn’t they?

There’s a lot of vitriol in his post, against all Republican Conservatives. I’ve also observed more and more divisiveness in this country in the last five years, as is evident in this post.

I certainly don’t feel better off than I did five years ago. This isn’t the country I grew up in. I want to elect politicians who are PROUD of the United States, and not apologizing for it and us.
