CHRISTIANS: They know persecution
The Coeur d’Alene Press said that they printed so many letters from the holy right because they did not get any of opposing views, well here’s one.
In the 1500s people all over Europe were fleeing their homelands, quite often in fear for their lives. These people were so persecuted they were willing to take the almost suicidal trip to the New World. Once these people reached the new land they segregated themselves into separate little colonies and of course started persecuting the heathen natives because they did not believe as they did and were running around on land the new settlers wanted for their own.
Who were these poor persecuted settlers? They were Christians, of course. Who were those horrid persecutors in Europe? Christians of course.
Five hundred years later in the land of Religious Freedom, who is still trying to persecute anyone who might be of a different faith or thinks differently or doesn’t follow their rules? Yep, it’s still Christians.
It would seem that the only thing Christians have been able to agree on is that they all want their INDIVIDUAL policies and philosophies injected into our government, schools and the running of our daily lives, and that separation of church and state doesn’t apply to them.
It’s also a curiosity how each little group says only they have the direct line to God and only they have the super secret to heaven.
It has also been fun to watch how the different groups can pull certain rules out of their book to prove their point while completely ignoring all the other rules.
Maybe some of these black book scholars can explain to us poor wretches how it is that they get these private messages from God and he or she is telling everyone something different.
A few other proud Christian moments: the Crusades, the drowning and crushing witch checks, the Inquisition, and let’s don’t forget the maiming of natives so they would stay and learn to love Christ.
