COUNTY: 'Big plan' offers little to like

When I was growing up I heard it said we would be destroyed from within, not from without. The way things are going in our country today makes me wonder. If you are in the military, politicians will get you killed. For example, Benghazi, our Navy Seals. Decisions are made by people who are safe and sound.

In my opinion we have a big threat here at home. I believe we have too many regulations now! For example, you have to go to “Big Brother” and pay for permission to replace, repair or build a small building such as a small shed or barn, if you live in a rural area.

Then we have county commissioners and planning and zoning. They have spent several hundred thousand to hire an out of state company to write the rules for US. I’ve been told before that it is for our own good.

No matter how much sugar they put on this 500-page mess, it won’t make it sweet. They, like some of us, will never see the big picture.

The people who have this Big Plan should follow my wife’s granddad’s theory: If you think you need something, you wait two days. If you got along without it, you don’t need it.

If county officials wanted to update everything, all they had to do is change the date. Let the Big Plan go somewhere else. We could save a lot of money.
