Firecracker Mile Open Water Swim slated for Sunday

COEUR d'ALENE - Take a plunge Sunday.

G.O.A.T. Events presents the inaugural Garfield Bay Firecracker Mile Open Water Swim at 10 a.m. Sunday.

The Swim is at the Garfield Bay, Idaho public beach and park area on Lake Pend Oreille. Check in starts an hour before the swim. Parking is available at the public park or along the lake road. There is a $20 fee, including day of race. The first 25 registrants will receive souvenir silicone race cap with race logo.

Wetsuits are allowed, but no floatation devices will be permitted. Snorkel and/or fins are allowed but swimmers using these devices will not be eligible for time awards. No refunds for weather or event cancellation. Participants must be 13 years or older to enter. All participants must sign a waiver on race day; those under 18 must have parent/guardian present to sign. Race Director: Donna Gaudet. Email: [email protected].
