FIREWORKS: Spare pooches the pain

Dog lovers. Be sure to keep your pals safe during Fourth of July fireworks “season.” Many of them are scared out of their minds by the noises and in trying to find safety, make a run for it. Here in the Parkside community area, the celebrating begins a week or so prior to the Fourth and goes on several days afterward, going LONG past 10 p.m. My big ol’ golden retriever is a shivering mass of terror during these two weeks. While I understand fireworks are fun, dogs and their people don’t all enjoy them. It seems reasonable to suggest that, not on the Fourth, but the days before and after, there be a cut-off time. Anyway, be good humans, keep them safe!
