Diabetes and quantum biofeedback

| January 30, 2013 8:00 PM

It is estimated that 350 million people worldwide are affected by diabetes, many of whom are completely oblivious to the damage being done inside their bodies. Some of these symptoms can include a metallic taste in their mouth, fatigue, dizziness, mood swings, compromised immune function, inability to focus or concentrate and approximately 80 percent will die from stroke or heart disease. Many will suffer from serious health complications including nerve damage (neuropathy), kidney failure, blindness, periodontal diseases, poor circulation and poor wound healing which can frequently lead to amputation. These statistics are terrifying, but the good news is Diabetes can be managed.

People with Diabetes must take an active role in the daily management of their disease from taking the medicine prescribed by their doctor, to monitoring their glucose levels, exercising, making appropriate dietary choices, and by reducing their stress.

Endocrinologists are now surmising that increases in stress and the resulting cortisol levels and inflammation are predictors of obesity and type two diabetes. Excessive

or prolonged stress, and heightened inflammatory markers also negatively impact both insulin resistance and neuropathy. Biofeedback can help! Studies on people with noninsulin-dependent diabetes showed that with education and biofeedback, average blood glucose and HbA1C were significantly decreased.(Cox,Grower-Dowling, McGinnis, McGrady, 2005). Other studies with Biofeedback and Diabetes have shown decreases in both depression and anxiety and well as improved sleep, (McGrady, 2002) thus suggesting a psychological component in blood glucose regulation. Louise Hay states that the pancreas is an organ associated with joy. This study suggests that those with suppressed joy and those who suffer from depression/anxiety may be more prone to diabetes, and its devastating effects.

Biofeedback has been scientifically shown to aid in increasing circulation and as effective intervention for neuropathy and other neurological disorders. Both are crucial health factors in fighting diabetes.

INDIGO biofeedback also has the unique ability to uncover how emotions and other stress reactions may be contributing to diabetes. This allows us to educate clients as to essential lifestyle changes, while at the same time, generating retraining protocols to gently shift these reactions to restore healthier homeostasis and to positively impact quality of life.
