COMBAT: No place for women

| February 13, 2013 8:00 PM

In the Old Testament book of Judges, there was a woman named Deborah who told her commander, whose name was Barak, to go to war. To paraphrase his response, “I’ll go, but not without you.”

Her response in Judges 4:9 was, “I will surely go with you; nevertheless, there will be no glory for you in the journey you are taking, for the Lord will sell the enemy into the hands of a woman.”

Moral of the story: It is a shameful thing for a man named Barak to send a woman into battle.
