HISTORY: Column much appreciated

| February 8, 2013 8:36 PM

I just wish to express my appreciation for the History Corner column that is published in the Sunday edition of the Shoshone News Press.

I used to look forward to Harvey Mackay’s column too until in one of his columns he extolled an individual who stiffed a cab driver as a solution to that man’s immediate problem. Typical Freudian slip I would say.

However, Mr. Albright’s column deals with something of real interest beyond the business world and would seem to be an adjunct to classroom history instruction. And of course what makes the column beyond the fine writing and presentation of facts are the photographs.

I have particularly enjoyed the columns of Captain John Mullan, Molly B’ Damn and William Borah. Really a nice way of becoming informed about these various individuals without doing the kind of research Mr. Albright has evidently done.
