GIFT CARD: Promise to pay it forward
To The Editor,
I was the checker when this customer (TJ Roy) came through my line today, so I witnessed him receiving this gift card from the customer behind him. It was a blessing to have watched this unfold and to see the total look of amazement on this man’s face. The reason I’m telling you this is because this gentleman came back through my line sometime later and bought some writing paper. He told me he wanted to write to the editor of the paper and share what had happened to him, so would I please make sure that the editor received it. I told him I would do that for him, as he gave me his hand-written letter. It was so important to him to share this, so I’m hoping that you will please publish his letter in your editorial section.
Thank you,

To Whom it May Concern:
I was in line at Safeway at about 2:00, filling a prescription. I won’t lie, I’m going through a trying time. But for no reason, a lovely lady hands me a gift card. Who, or where she came from is beyond me. All I know is Christmas didn’t matter to me. I tried to give it back, but she would have none of it. I have no money, but I will pay it forward from here on out. My name is TJ Roy, and while writing this I have been questioned by police. God Bless my blond angel, and Merry Christmas to everyone.
