MANDELA: Not equal to Thatcher

Why is it that President Obama gave an executive order lowering the American flag to half mast for Nelson Mandela (Friday through Monday evening)? He also attended the funeral services for Mandela, but when Margaret Thatcher died he did not lower the flag nor did he attend the funeral.

Which of these two people has led their country in aiding us during the many conflicts that we have been involved in? I’m amazed that he didn’t lower the flag for Trayvon Martin.
