HEALTH: Keep debate civil, please
I’ve been reading all the letters from people on both sides of the Obamacare issue. There’s just a lot of vitriol and (seeming) hatred in them. Is this really necessary? Isn’t it OK to disagree on something without name calling and spewing “supposed” facts? Can these individuals effect a change? Only through their elected representatives or the ballot box.
Republicans didn’t instigate the term “Obamacare.” It was started further back and President Obama himself said he was proud of the moniker and its use. Tea Party members are individuals, not a registered political party. The group consists of people from all walks of life and both sides of the aisle; their common denominator is fiscal responsibility through spending cuts and controls.
Republicans and conservative thinkers might just be right in your midst. Regardless of all the name-calling and accusations, 2014 is going to show us what we’re in for. Remember, NO ONE knew what was in this monster and little by little information is being exposed for the price that will be paid. The young aren’t signing up as was hoped, opting instead to pay the fine. Look for premiums and deductibles to rise and options to be fewer.
Universal health care is socialism. Our country wasn’t founded on socialism; it’s a strangling form of governing. The next 30 days are going to be a revelation to us all.
