CAT: Stray lives like a queen
I wonder if your readers would be interested in the story of my stray cat. I have named her “Sweetie Pie” which is a ridiculous name for her as she won’t let me touch her, or get very close. I have looked after her for nearly seven years.
I think she lived under our shed for quite a while, until I saw her trying to get a drink from the bird bath. I put out food and drinks for her at the bottom of the yard, and finally managed to get her to come to the patio where she now lives. She has a cat bed on the steps that is heated on these cold winter nights, and spends most of her time peeping into the house. That is how I managed to get a photo of her.
We heard that Dr. Bodkin at the Hayden Pet Medical Center was willing to spay or neuter stray cats at no expense several years ago. We decided to have it done as we didn’t want kittens born under the shed. We borrowed a trap from a kind neighbor, but found out from the clinic that she had the surgery long ago. Apparently they snip off the top of one ear to show she has been spayed. I thought somebody had been cruel when she was just a kitten.
So, the end of the story is that she lives a life of a queen, having lots of love that she is unaware of. I am hoping there is someone reading this who is a cat lover, and enjoys my story.
