Lynn Oden Aus, 76
Lynn Oden Aus was born to Fern Phyllis (Reese) Aus and Clifford Oliver Aus on February 7, 1937 in Minot, North Dakota. When Lynn was about 5 years old, the family moved to Seattle, where his father found employment as a Security Guard. The family moved back to Minot before Lynn started school. He attended school in Minot until the summer of 1952 when he came to Potlatch, Idaho to visit his Aunt Daisy (Reese) and Uncle Gibb Paroz. He got permission to stay in Potlatch and attend school. He graduated from Potlatch High School in 1955. In 1956 he joined the Air Force, but was discharged for medical reasons. In 1960 he married Mary Katherine Christensen, and they had a son, Eddie Marlyn Aus. Later they divorced.
In August 1962 he married Wanda Marie Adams. They made their home in Lewiston, Idaho, where Lynn worked at Potlatch Forests Corporation. They had two children, Craig Lynn Aus and Valhalla Marie Aus. In 1966 Lynn joined the Navy and served during the Vietnam Campaign. After his discharge, he returned to work at Potlatch Corp., and later joined the Idaho National Guard. Lynn retired from the mill in 1992, and from the Idaho National Guard in December 1994. Lynn and Wanda then moved to St. Maries. Wanda had a lengthy illness, but Lynn cared for her at home until her passing in November 2007. They had been married 45 years. Anyone who knew Lynn would have expected nothing less.
Lynn made contact with Darlene (O’Reilly) Singer in mid 2008, after more than 50 years. Lynn and Darlene married on August 14, 2008 in St. Maries, Idaho, made their home, and lived a fairy tale life in Rathdrum, Idaho.
