PARKING: Reflect the real N. Idaho
Why would someone exploit an unruly parking violation? I understand that the lonely parking enforcement officer is trying to make a living (presumably on Idaho’s minimum wage which is a joke in itself). But let us examine the parking situation in “downtown” Coeur d’Alene.
I love Coeur d’Alene, I was born here, but sadly I’m frustrated. This is Coeur d’Alene, not Bangalore or L.A. or Paris or even Bellevue, for that matter. I say stay relative, Coeur d’Alene. It’s still North Idaho…mining and logging…remember?
Sadly, most people reading (or publishing) this don’t remember because you are from elsewhere. Likely the real potato state, Washington. Or Northern Mexico, AKA California. Or dare I say Boise State? Which perhaps biases me in saying I am a proud Vandal. GO VANDALS!
Regardless, even the fair and balanced Bill O’Reilly wouldn’t issue someone a parking ticket on a Sunday afternoon in an otherwise décolleté parking lot in “downtown” Coeur d’Alene that blatantly stated restrictions apply only Monday-Friday, right?
Dollar amount and negligence of said ticket are notwithstanding the overarching point. Kootenai Countyites are brainwashed to think that Coeur d’Alene has prosperous parking plans “downtown.” Conventional society knows however that this is simply a negligent business strategy and a tax ploy. I simply suggest we embrace North Idaho, not exploit it.
