Labrador to seek re-election

Rep. Raul Labrador announced Wednesday that he will seek re-election in 2014.

Labrador, a Republican representing Idaho's First Congressional District in Washington, D.C., also put to rest any speculation that he might challenge Gov. Butch Otter in the GOP primary.

In an email sent to campaign supporters, Labrador said that for many months, his supporters encouraged him to enter the gubernatorial race, and he seriously considered it.

"Even though many of you had very persuasive reasons why I should consider running for governor, I genuinely believe Congress is the best place for me to serve you at this time," Labrador wrote.

He also told supporters that he feels he has not yet fulfilled his mission in Congress.

'Duffel Bag Bandit' arrested

BOISE (AP) - Idaho federal prosecutors announced the indictment of a man they've nicknamed "the Duffel Bag Bandit," saying he held up a Boise US Bank branch in March carrying a large red sack.

The FBI arrested Gerald R. Massey, a former Boise resident living in Shreveport, La., Monday.

Massey was charged Wednesday in U.S. District Court in Idaho with one count of bank robbery.

He's already appeared in U.S. District Court in Louisiana.

Earlier this year, the FBI offered up to a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the Duffel Bag Bandit, saying a man meeting that description had robbed six banks in Idaho and Utah.

At the time, they were seeking someone up to 60 years old.

Massey, who is 42, faces 20 years in prison if convicted.
