Center Target event helps nonprofits

POST FALLS - A customer appreciation day at Center Target Sports in Post Falls on Saturday assisted the Post Falls Food Bank, Inland Northwest Blood Bank and Toys for Tots.

The amount of food collected was 7,244 pounds - more than twice as much as last year. It also generated nearly five totes of toys, also twice as much as a year ago, and 71 pints of blood.

"All in five hours," said Peggy Santos, who owns the business with her husband Ed. "We couldn't be happier or more exhausted."

The event featured clinics, demonstrations, a swap meet, free hot dogs and many prizes, including four guns.
