COINUTS: Criminal charges warranted
Real nice lawsuit… but … too little, too late. What is another civil lawsuit against the Mitchells? Nothing. I bet there are 25-plus other civil cases in the past 3-4 years. Just another package of papers that the Mitchells have to take to the trash can.
Another questing, why did Idaho Assistant Attorney General Stephanie Guyon take so long to start this civil case? By my count there are 56 victims, $1.5 million over a three-year period. At any rate the Idaho Attorney General can get their $664,326 judgment but collecting is another matter.
Mitchell is “judgment proof;” he has all his ill-begotten wealth very well hidden. Sure wish this lawsuit came out in May 2012. I would be $24,000 richer.
Criminal prosecution is the only answer. When he is facing 10 years in prison or the option of making restitution to his victims, that is when I will get excited. Barry McHugh, Kootenai County prosecutor, please hurry up the process. All us victims sure will be grateful.
The real hero is David Cole of the Coeur d’Alene Press.
