McEUEN: Taxation minus representation

| April 19, 2013 9:00 PM

Thanks to Len Crosby’s research uncovering what amounts to taxation without representation. Unelected, unaccountable bodies are robbing taxing districts so they can do whatever they wish with tax dollars.

Most people who are footing the bill have to watch these funds spent on amenities such as the McEuen trinket, taking a mill site off the tax roles to provide parking at NIC, and other use of funds that provide no benefit to most.

In Cd’A it appears her imperious majesty Sandi and her court use Urban Renewal Funds to suit their own fancies and interests, unaccountable to the people who foot the bill. Why can’t all the tax payers effected by these URDs have a say?

I recall the first public hearing on McEuen: NOTHING IS SET IN CONCRETE. However, a few weeks later when a historical carousel was contributed, her highness stated there was no place in the plans for a carousel. It seems quiet and low level lighting are to suit the high-rises that are now and will be in the future.
