SEDDON: Seeing is believing
If you want to hire a person for a job, it is wise to talk to their co-workers.
I have worked with Ann Seddon on the School Board for the past four months. She is intelligent, attentive, focused and considerate. She has decades of experience as a teacher and as a remedial tutor, which gives her a unique and invaluable perspective on education. She has considerable experience fixing the educational problems that others created. However, I was most impressed watching Ann work with young children. She is a naturally gifted teacher, the kind we all fondly remember. She also has a passion and a commitment to getting education right.
It was Ann Seddon who instinctively knew that our graduates were not being given the math skills they needed. She went directly to North Idaho College and discovered that nearly 50 percent of our high school graduates required time consuming and expensive remediation in the needed math skills. At the Candidate Forum I was stunned when her opponent denied the hard facts and refused to acknowledge that this problem even exists. I don’t care how much experience you have, if you can’t accept the truth because it does not fit your narrative then you probably shouldn’t be put in charge.
In the 10 months she has served on the Board, Ann Seddon has proven herself to be an excellent Trustee. You do not need to wonder IF she can do a good job because we already know she can. We are fortunate that she is willing to step up and serve our community.
Vote for Ann Seddon. It is the best thing you can do for education.
