NIC: Take any threat seriously
Police search for North Idaho College student who made “Columbine”-type threat — this needs to be taken seriously.
After reading about a student at NIC making a threat like Columbine and the police only securing exits and not doing a lockdown is wrong. As a taxpayer and I have two boys who go to NIC, I would like to know what type of emergency action is put into place and when is it used. Is there not a no tolerance policy at NIC?
I would think that any threat, whether it be false or not, would be taken seriously and there would have been a lockdown! I’m very upset with this. If something had happened and heaven forbid something would have happened to both my boys or some other young adult, believe you me I would take action against the school as there isn’t a carbon copy to bring any of our kids back if something happened!
We have a no tolerance policy at grade schools, middle schools and high schools. Please start doing your job as our kids pay a lot of money to go to college to further their education. You are paid by taxpayers as are the police, so it’s your responsibility to make them safe.
A threat is a threat plane and simple; you’re just showing others that they can make threats and not be taken seriously and nothing will happen. The minute he made those comments he should have been apprehended.
