STORY: Beware the bozos, Nick

| September 16, 2012 9:00 PM

This is in response to the letter titled “CHALLENGE: Be Patient, People” and to back it up as well.

First of all “very well put” Mr. Larry Mitcham. As Larry mentioned, our family wasn’t so fortunate when we lost our brother to a traumatic brain injury when he was only 19 (April 16, 1983). I’m sure Nick Maniscalo and his family are fortunate that Nick still has his whole life ahead of him.

Second, idiots such as the one who was yelling obscenities to Nick Maniscalo don’t even deserve to be called “people.” Knowing my brother Larry, he also has and uses his choice words for this type of element — he probably wanted to practice good writing etiquette, that’s all.

Third, pedestrians have rights, drivers only have privileges. Seems to be the first thing many imbeciles (like the one in question) seem to forget once they are issued their license from the DMV. That is of course, unless they got their license out of a Cracker Jack box.

To Nick and his family, you have both my envy and admiration you were given a second chance. Great job, Nick, and you keep on walking! Just watch out for idiots, that’s all.

ROBERT F. MITCHAM
