WANTED: One humane cat-catcher

| September 12, 2012 10:43 PM

You had a nice article about KHS. But I have a complaint. I went in a year ago to see about getting help with some pregnant cats that had been dropped off at our road three years ago. Well I’m loaded with cats: three litters this year. Anyway, when I asked if they knew of anyone who would help me live trap them the lady said they don’t do anything with farrow/barn cats. She handed me a pamphlet with the spay/neuter prices. I tried to tell her I can’t catch them and even if I could, on SS I couldn’t afford it. She basically fluffed me off.

Now this summer I have three new litters that are getting wilder everyday. I have managed to give three away to nice homes with more to go if I can catch them. I want to find someone to live trap the adults for me for very good barn cat mousers. Animal Control in Post Falls was no help either.

I know people who have offered to come out and put them down. I have never put down a healthy animal and God would haunt me for the few years I have left. I’ve had pets almost all of my 72 years. But it looks like I may have to have them put down. I have found no help in the last two years. Can’t even contact anyone at Second Chance. They want to adopt out but the recording gives this old gal no hint about taking in any animals.

Just thought I’d let you know of my experience trying to save these poor animals. But KHS sure wants a person to donate. Which I have done.
