CHARTER: Step up for school
Congratulations to the Coeur d’Alene School District on the recent passage of their $32 million bond. While the buzz of the election win is still fresh, I wanted to inform (or remind) people that although the Coeur d’Alene Charter Academy is a public school (open to everyone, does not charge tuition), it does not receive monies from these levies.
As a Charter parent for almost five years, I am continually impressed and amazed by the high caliber education provided AND the fiscal responsibility exercised by this school that maintains an emphasis to “do more with less.”
Since Coeur d’Alene Charter Academy relies heavily on fundraising for building and facilities improvements, I would like to invite everyone to our third annual Rally for Education on Saturday, Sept. 22. The Rally is an all-day event that starts with a timed Road Rally, and culminates with a Finish Line Event at the Kootenai County Fairgrounds.
If you can’t participate in the Rally but would like to support the school, you can just attend the Finish Line Event at the fairgrounds. Tickets for the family-friendly event are $10 and include a barbecue dinner from Texas Roadhouse and live entertainment from local favorites, Colby Acuff and Justin Sherfey. We will also have carnival activities (bouncers, face painting, etc.) for the kids.
For more info and registration for the rally, visit www.cdacharter.org. (The Rally link is in the upper right corner.)
