CONGRESS: No time for politics
I find myself stunned by the current behavior of Republican leaders and most Republican members of Congress. At a time when the people of the United States need them to take care of serious issues, they have opted again to bluster, and to stand against the president of the United States, rather than with him.
Elected officials are in office at the will of the people, and should represent the people, not ALEC, not Grover Norquist, not Corporations, and not the extreme fringes of their party. Americans want and deserve Congress to solve problems, not create them.
I call on the members of the Republican Party to recognize their responsibility to get on with the work of making America better. I ask them to challenge themselves and their members to work with, not against the duly elected administration. I ask them to realize that the people have spoken, and that the United States has real problems that must be solved with bipartisan efforts. I enjoin them to stop the petty bickering and to work together, or to take the honorable path, and to step aside. Step aside and let people who truly put country before self-interest move us forward.
An American citizen,
