CATS: Happy ending to story

| November 14, 2012 8:00 PM

I want to thank the Coeur d’Alene Press for printing my letter to the editor a couple months ago about help with cats that had me overwhelmed. That very morning I got a call from a very nice lady. There is a small group of people who work with Second Chance Pet Rescue. They helped me get these cats and kittens trapped and fixed at their expense.

There are a couple of vets and the Humane Society that work with them at a reduced/no cost. They put a lot of their own money out along with donations. They badly need help. Anyone who may have an extra couple of dollars that want it would be so greatly appreciated. The Humane Society also takes donations. They have two stores, Coeur d’Alene and Post Falls, that take donations of clothing, furniture, dishes, working electronics and working appliances.

If anyone wants to donate or volunteer for Second Chance you can call 644-4106 or go to 2425 N. Government Way. The numbers I have for the ladies that helped me are Lynn at 704-8093 or Shirley at 818-6016. They both work so you may have to leave a message or call early morning or evenings. I wish I had the numbers for the other two ladies.

I still have five 5-6-month-old kittens and five adults to give away to anyone that can give good homes to. The adults would love a home with a nice barn or outbuildings to chase those pesky mice. I have a week to find homes for them because I have no one to feed while I go to my daughters for the holidays.

Please anyone that can help any of these organizations. You would be so appreciated. Again, Thank You to all that have helped me and my cat problem. Please people don’t drop your pets off on some old road or neighborhood.
