Who would go to your funeral?

When you pass away you know that someone in your family is going to plan a funeral for you, they will call everyone else in the family and maybe even some of your friends. It will probably end up in the newspaper, maybe even on the news if it made a big enough impact on someone or you died doing something amazing. That being said, Who would go to your funeral? Who out of all of your family would show up? Would everyone in your family come or are some of them angry with you? Did you somehow disappoint some of them by not making the family name famous? Are they embarrassed because your criminal record isn't clean?

Would the man at the corner stop come to pay his respects or is he just doing his job providing customer service and selling product? Would the people that you spend every extra cent employing by buying your family things to prove that you love then going to stop by just to say thank you?

Are the people you grew up with going to even realize that one of the teenagers that they spent their lunches playing flag football with is no longer on this earth? Would any of them care?

Would your wife come? Or is she disappointed that you died and left her with two children that will for the rest of their lives wonder where Daddy is? Will she be so angry with you that you were never good enough, or that you didn't provide for the family in the way that she thought you should? Will your kids come to say goodbye, or if they are not old enough to drive themselves will the wife who is so plainly ashamed of you keep them home because she doesn't think you deserve their visit? Will your in-laws dance on your grave, knowing that no matter how hard you worked that you would have never been good enough for their baby girl? Or will they wonder if ever given a second chance that you would prove everyone wrong that the life you had didn't matter to you?

Would your dad come? Knowing that you gave it everything you had and worked yourself into a casket proving you were good enough for his approval? Or would he stay home because he still believed you didn't work hard enough to do what it took to get your business done?

You know your mom would show because nothing can get in the way of a mother and her babies! Would any of your siblings stop to pour you some whiskey because though you grew apart they were always the ones to stick up for you growing up? Or would they be too mad that you didn't come visit more?

Overall you never know the answer to the question until you are sitting in the clouds watching the casket lowered into the ground.
