STORY: Highlights keeping kids safe

| November 7, 2012 10:16 PM

On Thursday, reporter Brian Walker attended a presentation I made on behalf of the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Department. The program is called Hug-A-Tree and teaches children survival skills if they become lost in the woods. His article on this presentation appeared in the Press on Friday morning.

I want to thank Brian for an excellent job in presenting this program to Press readers. The Sheriff’s Office believes that this is a very valuable program for our local children and would like as many as possible to hear it at least once while they are in elementary school. The article was a big help in making our local communities aware that the Hug-A-Tree program is available. Brian did a great job summarizing the major points the presentation makes, and in itself, the article was a valuable educational tool.

Thank you for a job very well done.
