THINK: Honoring independent thought

| May 27, 2012 9:00 PM

America, the land of the free, the home of the brave.

Now fast forward about 50 years. It’s 2012. We are in the 21st century, in what used to be the greatest, most free country in the world. If in fact we are so free, should we even have to worry about our last real freedom? Breathing in fresh clean Northwest mountain air?

Working outside and being able to really appreciate our beautiful Idaho landscapes and fresh air is something that I have taken for granted for far too long. Writing about chemtrails is not my intent and speaking about conspiracy theories will only turn so many heads. I would in fact like to discuss what is going on above our heads and above our children’s heads almost on a daily occurrence.

When I was younger, I used to look up to the sky and see jets leaving long, thick, rope-like streams that would make the sky look like the last day of circus. When the sun set down, leaving those streams in the sky to fan out, to almost cover the sky in shades of colors that I wasn’t even aware existed, was amazing. The average person will not even give them a second thought. They will only admire, stare then move on to thinking about who is going to survive on American Idol tonight. But what if, just for one second, after many hours of these strands beginning to blanket the sky, we asked our neighbors their point of view? What if, instead of just assuming that these were vapor trails, we remembered back to elementary school. Everyone can remember that water, will ultimately… evaporate. That’s right.

Your heard yourself correctly. Water does evaporate. This is called Science. Well, maybe chemistry, but still science and still common sense.

OK, now that we know this little tidbit of information, as human beings, should we not question? Should we not possibly look further into why our last free right as humans is being gradually eroded right in front of our faces? I know, you’re thinking, “Here we go, another conspiracy quack.” Well, watching what’s going on up there is no conspiracy, people. Listening to tales of alien abductions and believing that the president is the president because a bunch of Americans went to the polls and voted him in office, now that Is conspiracy. Seeing with your own eyes is proof. Watching a news anchor on television and believing propaganda to sway you their way isn’t proof.

All I ask of my fellow Idahoans, my American brothers and sisters is “Think for yourself.” Don’t allow the media or your lazy next door neighbor tell you that you’re not a real American for using your own brain. As an American, your one duty is to QUESTION and to think for yourself. Hopefully, in my future blurbs, I can bring to light other social taboos that I can begin to chip away at and maybe, just maybe get that one person to hear me. Just that one person out there, sitting and staring lasers beams into my rants.

If you’re reading this transmission … You ARE the resistance.
