RECALL: Senior smells a stinker
I hope you will listen to an 89-year-old who has lived through the depression and knowing the terror the words RAISE YOUR TAXES can bring to us. Yet once again during the recall movement is a tool being used claiming an 18 percent raise in taxes this time. It is not true but has been used as a threat and was admitted according to the Coeur d’Alene Press article. What will they resort to to get your name on their list?
Tuesday, May 17, they set up a sign-up table with a huge sign in front of Loyalton (now Emeritus) assisted living cottages. What better place to get we seniors to sign up with their misinformation? How many other assisted homes have they targeted and set up sign-up tables?
We have so many new facilities to enjoy. Sure there are negatives but good far surpasses and I thank those responsible and applaud them.
I have enjoyed my great-granddaughter’s ballet program at the handicap-accessible beautiful performing arts theater and enjoyed the outstanding pool facilities the Kroc Center provides. What a treasure the Kroc Center is. The many special exhibits — Smithsonian for example at our new wheelchair accessible library — and so much more. I am looking forward to the improvements at McEuen Park and hope the newly acquired carousel will find a home there.
