Benjamin Joseph Newbold, 79

Benjamin Joseph Newbold was born in Mobile, Ala., on Dec. 2, 1932. He graduated from UMS High School and married Alayne in 1954 He owned his own photography studio in Mobile. They had two children, Shayne and Tris. He moved his family to Sacramento, Calif., but missed the south so much that he and Alayne moved back to Louisiana. In 1999 they moved to Idaho to be with their daughter and her family. They made many new friends and he worked at Coeur d’Alene Power Tools. He passed away at Hospice House on April 27, 2012.

He is survived by his wife, Alayne of 58 years; a son, Shayne and Rose Newbold of Arizona; and a daughter, Tris and Mark Fisher of Hayden. He had two grandchildren, Jessica Newbold of Texas, and Julayne and Josh Foshee’ of Coeur d’Alene; two step-granddaughters, Melanie and Stephanie; and several great-step-grandchildren.

He loved to hunt, hit the gun shows with Mark, his dogs, engraving, photography and playing dominos.

We would like to thank Coeur d’Alene Power Tools for making him a member of their family. Thank you for your support and Danny’s help to get a permanent place for his car. Thank you to all of the neighbors who helped them through sunshine and snow. Many thanks to the wonderful staff of Hospice of North Idaho and Hospice House, without them we could not have made it through this difficult time.

He would like for all of us to remember the good times, good friendship, good food and the laughter he left us with. He still had his wonderful sence of humor and kept all of us laughing through the hard time of letting go.

He did not want any service to be held and he donated his body to help others to learn. Donations can be made in his name to Hospice of North Idaho.

Your smile and laughter will be missed by all.
